Confetti Meaning

Confetti is a historical symbol of prosperity and fertility and for hundreds of years has been thrown over the bride and groom at weddings. It represents that life is both bitter and sweet and was originally represented by sugar coated almonds. Originally The five almonds, given out at weddings, stood for happiness, health, wealth, fertility, and longevity to the newlywed couple. Over centuries this tradition has adapted and expanded and confetti is now commonly used in birthday parties through to celebrating sporting success.

Confetti Wedding

Church confetti often comes with many restrictions. Due to its difficulty to clean up, many churches in NZ will insist that only 100% biodegradable confetti is used. This restricts people to either dried flower confetti, or paper confetti.

Confetti Balloons

Our range of products make ideal confetti for balloons. A simple way for you to make DIY confetti balloons at home. Simply open up the bottom of a standard balloon as wide as you can, insert the confetti and tie it off. To get everything to stick to the outside, rub the outside of the balloon with a cloth (ideally wool) to create a static charge. Then shake the balloon until the confetti sticks to the sides. This is a great way to make any ordinary balloon stand out.
